Jonathan Nyquist is an award-winning director with 25 years of on-set experience working with some of the world’s biggest brands, as well as talent from all walks of life.

He was loading 35mm film at 16, running the camera department by 19, shooting documentaries by 21 and directing commercials by 25.  

Jono gets it – he asks the right questions and then captures emotive cinematic moments that tell a great story in a very short time.

Those who know him know he’s a straight shooter - a good bloke with an obsessive passion for high-end visuals and authentic performances. He’s chilled, but he knows what he wants and knows how to get it, while always keeping the clients coming back for more.

He’s created work for McDonalds, Lexus, Samsung, British Airways, Coke, Qantas, Audi, Pepsi, and Unilever.  

He’s directed kids, cows, dogs, wombats, Masai warriors, sports stars, sky divers and celebrities. He’s directed people off the street, people who have never left their hometown, and people who’ve never seen a camera before.

Jono has filmed in some of the craziest places on earth, and in crazy situations, above and below the surface. And he’s received plenty of awards and recognition for his unique and highly visual style.

Jono focuses on an open-book approach of collaboration and communication, and the flexibility to do what needs to be done. He thinks on his feet and thrives in high pressure environments. When issues arise his clear thinking and problem solving make him a pleasure to work with.
